HOW MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES DEVELOP AND HOW THEY DO NOT DEVELOP: ANALYSIS OF METHODS OF TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN A MODERN SCHOOL

Abstract. The level of mathematical illiteracy characteristic of modern schoolchildren and young people. Critical analysis of programs and methods of teaching mathematics in primary and secondary schools, leading to such a situation in education. An option to optimize the development of mathematical abilities. The article is written taking into account the author’s 35 years of experience in various schools in Russia.
