Methodology for the design of the ascertaining stage of the experiment on the example of the formation of civic identity in the process of teaching geography

Abstract.  The article describes the peculiarities of the ascertaining stage of the experiment aimed at the formation of civic identity in the process of teaching geography in a general education school. In order to determine the relevance of the problem of the formation of civil identity, the author developed a questionnaire and conducted a survey (children, able-bodied and pensioners). Using a specific methodological problem as an example, the author describes the process of defining the problem, proposing a hypothesis, formulating the goal and objectives of the study, and planning the stages of experimental work. As a result of the work, a conclusion was drawn about the problem of the formation of civic identity, especially in the «children» group. Geography teachers were interviewed, the possibilities of geographic content for the formation of civic identity were analyzed, the final conclusions were formulated.
