Abstract. The article examines the essence and content of patriotic education as a systematic and purposeful activity of public authorities, civil society institutions and the family to form patriotic consciousness among citizens, a sense of loyalty to their Fatherland, readiness to fulfill civic duty to protect the interests of the Motherland, as well as modern means of its implementation. The emphasis is on the possibility of using gaming and quest technologies in patriotic education.
