Abstract. The article examines the problem areas of the domestic system of supplementary professional education of teachers and their difficulties associated with the development of functional literacy. An analysis of the situation is presented and a pedagogical script is proposed that allows leveling the potential deficits of functional literacy of a modern teacher.
