Good Intentions In The Field Of Education

Abstract: The title of the article was inspired by James Scott’s book “The Art of Noticing: The Good Intentions of the State. Why and How Projects to Improve the Human Condition Failed.” The object of analysis in this book is the fate of large-scale and ambitious projects — the creation of the highly modernist city of Brasнlia, Soviet collectivization, forced resettlement to villages in Tanzania, and state forestry. This article focuses on the realization of the educational potential of the Russian general education school in the interests of preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values. The article examines the situation of a mismatch between planned and unforeseen educational outcomes. It concludes that this phenomenon is linked to problems in managing the process of educating students in general education schools. The significant importance of the factor of self-determination of the school’s pedagogical capabilities in the field of educating the modern generation of students is noted.
