Abstract: The article analyzes the reasons for the lack of demand for A. S. Makarenko’s ideas by neoliberal ideology and pedagogy; provides modern interpretations of the concepts of “collective” and “collective-forming activity”; examines the conditions for the formation and development of an educational collective in the field of productive work of children and adults.
