Abstract: The article discusses the current problem of professional development of a new category of teaching staff — educational advisers. The introduction of this position in general education organizations, due to the strategic objective of strengthening the educational component in the education system, required an analysis of the set of qualities, knowledge and skills necessary for the effective performance of professional duties of an adviser. It is emphasized that the formation of this integrative competence model is the central task of the system of additional professional education and intra-corporate training. The necessity of a continuous and systematic approach to the professional development of advisers, including both theoretical training and practice-oriented forms, is substantiated.
