A teacher is a warrior by profession

Abstract: The article is devoted to one of the main problems of modern society — the education of the younger generation on the basis of a meaningful reading and understanding of national history and culture, ensuring the unity of our country and the multinational people. The teacher has a leading role in this important social mission. The author’s position is based on the need to actualize the importance of the teacher’s figure, his high responsibility in preserving and transforming our national existence. The author refers to the period of the Great Patriotic War and, using the example of pages from the history of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, reveals the meaning and values of the selfless devotion of students and teachers in a time of severe trials for the country
