Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the possibilities of using narratives about the Great Patriotic War as educational tools. Promising in this sense is an electronic text that freely changes its format and context when moving from user to user, capable of spreading in all directions and developing. A narrative can be defined as a relatively short author’s text characterized by consistency and coherence of presentation, created to convey information, knowledge and meanings to readers, intended for wide dissemination mainly in a digital environment. The use of narratives in the current situation is becoming particularly relevant in the context of the tasks identified by the President of the Russian Federation in the field of historical education. In this regard, the article highlights some promising types of narratives, among which a special place is occupied by the memories of participants in events related to the Great Patriotic War. These kinds of memories are based on the personal experiences of participants in those events or people who communicated with the participants of the Second World War, for example, with their own grandparents. The narrative of the Great Patriotic War is an educational content that can be used in a wide variety of educational activities. The requirements for educational activities established by law also apply to narratives about the Great Patriotic War. The specifics of narratives about the Great Patriotic War attach special importance to the issues related to the falsification of history. The article substantiates the need to build a system for assessing the content of narratives used in educational activities. Narratives about the Great Patriotic War can be used in educational and educational activities of educational organizations. The assessment of the possibility of using a narrative in the framework of the implementation of an educational program is the responsibility of a particular teacher and the educational organization as a whole.
