Abstract: The article presents the experience of restoring the historical memory of kindergarten teaching staff who worked in Leningrad during the siege, based on materials from the collections of the Pedagogical Museum of the St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education named after K. D. Ushinsky. The unique experience of Leningrad kindergarten staff, gained in extremely difficult social conditions during the war, can become a resource for personal growth and professional development for teachers of modern educational organizations. However, their use of specific methodological findings and discoveries of their predecessors, including for the purposes of patriotic education, requires a serious understanding of authentic cultural texts. The article discusses the organization of research work of groups of students, students and collectives of preschool educational institutions on the issues of blockade pedagogy, provides examples of the development of methodological support for workshops and projects based on the use of museum and pedagogical technologies. The conclusion is made about the effectiveness of long-term museum and pedagogical projects for the teams of modern educational institutions, during which information about blockaded kindergartens is collected and understood, and the results of this activity are included in work with children, parents and colleagues.
