“Pioneer General” — S. A. Shmakov

Abstract: In the history of the remarkable phenomenon of the pioneer organization, there was a single person whom the whole country for several decades proudly called the “pioneer general”, he was well known and deeply respected both in high ministerial offices and in the most remote and modest children’s health camps of the great country. He retained the brilliance of pioneer thinking, the enthusiasm of a teenager and the irrepressible energy inherent in the pioneer age to his gray hair. This man is Professor, Honored Teacher of Russia Stal Anatolyevich Shmakov.
