Abstract: The article actualizes the importance and role of the family in the upbringing of a person. The author examines and reveals the essence of family values; provides various classifications of family values used in pedagogical practice. Based on the study of the concept of education in the Degtyarev family, the principles of education focused on the formation of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values are analyzed.
