Social environment as an object of psychological and pedagogical research: retrospective and today

Abstract. This article provides an analysis of domestic and foreign research of the social environment in 20th and at the beginning of the 21st centuries and today as a special factor of development and formation of the person. The emphasis is placed on importance of finding of real and potential pedagogical opportunities of the social environment which need to be used at the organization of social education.
