Abstract. Teenagers are subject to radical moods. Such ideas they take from the Internet. Unfortunately, the modern school finds itself face to face in confronting the spread of destructive ideas in the school environment. In fact, each educational organization solves this problem based on the competencies of teachers, their own administrative experience and economic resources. As a result, the ways to combat xenophobia and extremism do not emerge from a clear management theory, but are born spontaneously in practice. Such a problem, of course, requires clear approaches to the solution. The article attempts to develop practical recommendations for leaders and teachers of educational organizations on patriotic and ethno-cultural education of schoolchildren, as well as work with young people who are interested in the formation of extremist sentiments on the basis of ethnic and religious rejection of other cultures.

Keywords: counteraction to extremism and xenophobia, ethno-cultural education, local history, educational practices at school, classes in the cycle “Talk about important things”, federal and regional identity
