Abstract. The article reveals the methodological system of the famous teacher-innovator of the Soviet era and outlines the ways of adapting it to the modern society of digital technologies. The possibility of using copy boards and social services of mental maps in the method of reference signals is considered and a comparative characteristic of the capabilities of mind mapping web applications is given.
