Abstract: Misunderstanding of the meaning of spiritual and moral concepts leads to a deformation of the worldview of modern youth. The concept of “chastity” is perceived by them in a distorted or incomplete way. The article reveals the meaning and significance of the concept of chastity through the analysis of the works of St. John the Ladder and Archimandrite John (Maslov) and substantiates the need to include these works in the process of spiritual and moral education in order to motivate youth to inner work on themselves.
