Abstract: Based on a systematic approach and involvement of the past in the history of Russian pedagogy, some aspects are considered that determine the successful practice of a regional approach in the education of the younger generation. The position of the pedagogical community in the development of priority problems of education in the regional educational space is shown. The importance and necessity in the practice of education of the changing position of the teacher as an educator and the importance of the activities of the entire pedagogical community to consolidate educational organizations with social institutions of the region in the upbringing of the child’s personality are presented. The problems of the formation of school identity as the basis for the formation of the all-Russian civic identity of a modern student are analyzed.
