The Phenomenon Of Polytechnic Education In The Pedagogical History Of The Soviet Period

Abstract: The term “polytechnic education” is almost forgotten even by historians of pedagogy and schools of the Soviet period. For many years, specialists have been actively using the concepts of “polytechnic training”, “industrial training”, and “polytechnic education”. It is these concepts that have left a noticeable mark in the pedagogical theory and practice of the Soviet period, they are meaningfully disclosed in fundamental research and reference pedagogical publications of that and subsequent times. Meanwhile, in the context of the “reconstruction of the national economy in the USSR”, contemporaries usually used the term “polytechnic education”.
