Abstract: The article analyzes the stereotypes of the perception of innovations and the methods of their latent rejection. On the example of the discussion of the A.G. Rivin’s method of collective mutual learning, the main ways of teachers’ reaction to new things are shown. Based on the analysis, conclusions were drawn about why Rivin’s method was not widely used.
