Abstract. This article defines specific methods are proposed that are optimal for the implementation of the task of additional study of the topic of hashing and passwords in the course of mathematics. The optimal results of studying this topic were determined according to the criteria for the quality of formation of subject, meta-subject and personal results. An author's view on methodological recommendations on the study of the topic “Hashing and Passwords” in the course of computer science at an in-depth level is presented and the problems of this topic in the context of modern trends in the development of the educational system and society as a whole are outlined.
